Our First Holiday Season as Inn Owners

The holiday season brings a special kind of magic to The Atlantic Inn. This year marks our very first holiday season as inn owners, and we have planned a series of thoughtful events and cozy touches to make your stay unforgettable. Our family LOVES the holidays, we are “those” people who start decorating the day after Halloween. When we moved from Northern Virginia in January I got rid of all of our Christmas trees (yes, I said trees). I knew our home couldn’t accommodate all of them. So when we bought the Inn the first thing

Jason said is, “we are going to have to buy all new trees at FULL price!” Little did he know I started scanning FB marketplace back in August looking for deals. Funny enough, we found most of our trees & decorations from vintage sales and thrift stores(maybe a few from Amazon too). For me there is something special about buying an item that has a story. I imagine our trees and decorations were once a part of a family’s Christmas, it’s nice knowing they will continue to bring joy in the
years to come. I think Katie and Mitch thought I was nuts when I said we are putting a tree in every guest room. I wanted guests to come and feel like they were at home, what’s more special than waking up to twinkling lights on a Christmas tree?
Beach in the Winter?
We realize most people don’t think to themselves, “Let’s go to the beach in winter!” So we have planned several fun events to celebrate the season with our guests during their stay. Here’s a small sample of what we have planned:
Holiday Trivia Nights

Test your knowledge of Christmas traditions, movies, and songs in a lively trivia game. It’s a great way to meet other guests and share some laughs.
Ugly Sweater Holiday Happy Hour
Wear your most colorful and quirky holiday sweater and join us for a festive happy hour. Enjoy seasonal drinks and snacks while showing off your holiday spirit.
Seasonal Breakfast Specials
We are pulling out all our favorite Holiday recipes from Christmas morning casseroles to
cookie recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation. We want to share all of our favorite things with you.

We are also participating in the Hatteras Village Christmas Parade on Dec. 13th at 2pm. Our theme this year is The Grinch….Jason loves the Grinch and really wanted to embrace all that the Grinch is. We are really excited to be a part of this tradition in the Village.
Jason and I have always dreamed of going to a “Hallmark” Christmas town for a holiday weekend. So naturally our goal is to make your holiday stay feel like stepping into a Hallmark Christmas movie, where every moment is filled with warmth, joy, and a touch of magic. The combination of unique room decorations, cozy evening gatherings, festive activities, and peaceful beach walks creates a holiday experience that is both relaxing and memorable.

We are so excited to share The Atlantic Inn Bed & Breakfast with all of you this Holiday season. We are open until Dec. 21st this year and hope you will consider giving yourself an early Christmas present with a stay. We will be closed to do some much needed upgrades during January. We hope to have a soft opening Valentine’s weekend. Make sure you check our social media accounts for more info on that. We are also in the early stages of planning a Women’s retreat in early March that will be filled with good food, new connections, yoga, decompressing, laughter, and maybe a couple theme nights.
If you can’t make it this Holiday season, we hope to see you next year at the Inn. Watch our social media accounts for a Black Friday Sale the day after Thanksgiving....you won't want to miss out on that! To book your stay, click on the link below:
We are very thankful to all of our guests who have stayed with us this fall. It's been so fun getting to know new people from all over the world. We appreciate all of you more than you know.
We hope to see you soon!

Ah, the holiday spirit has wrapped the “Atlantic Inn”! Enjoy the holidays & this magnificent “gem by the sea”. where family& friends gather!
Definitely, plan to visit in 2026., the women’s retreat sounds interesting & refreshing!
I’m glad I discovered you! Merry Christmas!
Hope you decorate your horse outside. Love your blog. If we lived closer........
I grew up at Hatteras village in the dwelling across the road now from the fire station and post office. When I was a girl, the area held the Hatteras Schoolhouse, next door to the Methodist Church.
Best wishes to you and your family. Were I vulnerable, I would be tempted by your plans. It
sounds fun. The winter beach can be lovely, when the weather is calm and I remember a Christmas or two when it was as warm as it now is.
Sincere best wishes,
