Stay Here You’ll be glad you did!
Pam and JB are doing an outstanding job as B&B host. Thoughtful and caring and just wonderful people to be around. The hard work that they put into the old hotel really shows. They did a great job in breathing life back into this old building. I remember seeing the old girl in such disrepair and knew I would come by her one day and she’d be gone. Thank you Pam and John for putting this great old structure back on the map! That being said, they did a GRAND job on the clean up!! The whole place is extremely clean and very well appointed. We stayed in the very clean Lighthouse suite and loved the decor. (First time on a sleep number bed, I now know I’m a 45 ;) Breakfast was delicious every time thanks to JB’s culinary skills in the kitchen and Pam keeping the coffee hot and all the guests needs satisfied in the dinning room. If you need info on where to eat out or what to do, ask them. We did, and every bit of info was spot on. For being beach short timers they have done their homework on where to eat and what to do. We also learned from the locals that we talked with that everyone knew them as well. Pam and JB don’t just run the Inn, they’re also very much involved in their community making them locals and that makes their business locally owned and family run. A nice thing to see these days!
If you’re heading to the Outer Banks call on The Atlantic Inn. You will NOT be disappointed! My family and I are from Wilson NC and have grown up luckily traveling up and down the Outer Banks staying at different places Some nice, some…well, you know :( When we decided to do a short trip (3 nights) we found The Atlantic Inn on a google search and booked it. We had no idea that the host and hostess of The Atlantic Inn would be the highlight of our stay.

A Very Special Place
Where to begin? The Atlantic Inn was one of our very favorite stays, as we traveled the length of the Outer Banks! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the hosts, John and Pam. They made us feel so very welcomed into their inn/home. Our room was the Aaron. It was on the first floor and very large in size. It was more of a suite. Our room and the inn were very clean and comfortable. You felt as if you were visiting family. The afternoon we arrived, John shared with us places to explore. We loved our long walk on Frisco Beach. Returning from the beach, we found homemade chocolate chip cookies in the lounge. There were snacks available in each room, as well. It was nice having a refrigerator and coffeemaker in the room. The next morning, we enjoyed an amazing breakfast! The best part of our stay was the time we were allowed to visit one on one with John and Pam. They are a delightful couple, who are amazing hosts. The motto of the inn is “Arrive as strangers, depart as friends.” We feel as if we have made new friends and can’t wait to schedule our next visit. Our next time at The Atlantic Inn will be for more than a night.

Best place ever!
There will never be a better place to stay! John and Pam have done an amazing job in rehabilitating and decorating a very old inn, and their personal and caring touches greet every visitor the moment you walk through the door. You will be greeted by name, personally shown your beautiful room, all amenities explained, the common areas are delightful with family games, a library, areas to read, relax, or watch tv, lovely outside areas, close beach access, and absolutely the best breakfasts ever! Plus John and Pam are so delightful to just hang around and chat with, and returning guests are given a discount. This is our third time staying here, each time we decide to stay more nights than the last time, and we will soon be returning even though it is quite the drive from home. There is just no where anything like this, and it is SO special!

The best place you will ever stay!
The Atlantic Inn is the absolute BEST place you will ever visit! We have been many times and look forward to our next visit. John and Pam are so welcoming and clearly enjoy chatting with all of their guests. John makes the best breakfasts, I’m drooling just thinking about them! And Pam has done an amazing job decorating every room individually, all in beach themes. There is a large breakfast room that is also a game and reading room, plus another smaller reading/game area upstairs. There is a large deck with many spots to sit and relax, plus several other smaller decks to enjoy. It’s just a short walk to the beautiful beach. And there are some fabulous restaurants in town, only a few minutes away.

A Treasure in the Outer Banks
Our stay at the Atlantic Inn was the highlight of our entire trip to the Outer Banks - which is saying a lot when the Inn is located in such a beautiful area! John and Pam's stay exceeded our expectations and was better than anything we could have dreamed up. From the decor, to the comfy bed and pillows, to the hot breakfast and all the small touches (games throughout the Inn, rocking chairs on the porches, snacks & water in the room fridge), they've thought of everything. It's a treasure of a stay in a special place. We cannot recommend it highly enough!

Beach Retreat
Another amazing stay with John and Pam at the Atlantic Inn! My cousin and I just left Hatteras and had a fantastic week. It is hard to find the words to describe their kindness and hospitality! The historic inn and peaceful surroundings create a calm, relaxing environment. John's tasty breakfasts left us full everyday! We stopped in the main room for one of Pam's chocolate chip cookies that were delightful! Our two hosts, including the boys and Pumpkin , have created a destination for beach, rest, and relaxation! Well done! Until we meet again......😘!

 here were snacks available in each room, as well. It was nice having a refrigerator and coffeemaker in the room. The next morning, we enjoyed an ama

This was our first trip to Hatteras and The Atlantic Inn did not disappoint. Pam and John breathe life and warmth into this historic inn. They are truly special hosts providing wonderful accommodations. The rooms were exceptionally clean, the breakfasts are divine, and the atmosphere is relaxing and inviting. Pam and John provided us with great recommendations and were a wealth of local knowledge. My husband and I would give them more than 5 stars if possible. Thanks for a wonderful visit for Hatteras first-timers! We will be back…especially for that comfy bed 😉

Wow wow wow! This was one of the best and most important stays we've had in our lives. Pam and John/JB are kind, thoughtful, creative, and effective innkeepers. We were in contact with them for a little under a year while planning our wedding weekend in Hatteras for this June. Pam is easy to talk to and dedicated time to understanding our vision and desires for our wedding weekend.
We were so impressed with the Atlantic Inn from the start and were very excited to share this adorable B&B with our friends and family. The whole experience exceeded our expectations. They were generous with the space and their time-- even allowing us to have a welcome party in their beautiful backyard seating area and have the lobby set up with a slideshow of our photos on the TV! So many of our guests commented that every area of the Inn and its grounds was beautiful, tranquil, and clean. It was a lovely evening and the perfect way to kick off the wedding weekend.
The majority of our wedding party stayed at the Inn for the weekend. We got ready at the B&B and did both our first look and initial wedding party photos on the beautiful, green, and magically sunlit grounds. The suites had ample space for us to each get ready and many have small sitting rooms or couches. It was a cozy and comfortable home base for several hours of hair, make up, and wedding prep!
Where some B&Bs or hotels cut corners, Pam & John absolutely do not. Even the snacks that were available in their continental breakfast spread or in snack baskets in the rooms were high quality. John is a wonderful cook and his made-to-order eggs were right on the money every time. I am still thinking about the wonderful monkey bread that was served one of the mornings. Delicious! The rooms were spotlessly clean, beds were comfortable, and each suite was charmingly and thoughtfully appointed with decorations. The whole place is simply a vibe.
The generosity of Pam and John will forever be in our hearts and a part of our wedding story. We were upgraded to a nicer room free of charge and arrived to find roses on the table and mini champagne in our fridge. The attention to detail and care was so apparent. I truly felt we were treated like royalty. In addition to their thoughtfulness and open-hearted nature, they cheerfully assisted us with anything we needed (including lots of ice, wrangling an extra table and a cooler), charmed our guests, and served up an amazing breakfast each day.
This stay was worth every penny and we will absolutely be back for many years and anniversaries to come. <3 Highly recommend the Atlantic for a romantic getaway, a small wedding or wedding party accommodations, or a peaceful retreat.

There simply are not enough stars to award John and Pam, the Owner-Innkeepers of The Atlantic Inn. I just returned from a glorious week with them In Hatteras Village. Looking forward to returning and enjoying their hospitality again and again.
