Although we have only been open since April 24th, 2021, we have accumulated quite a few reviews online, and in our guest book, and would love to share just a few of them from each source.

Guest reviews are super important to us, as we always want to ensure that when you visit with us at "The Atlantic", you have the best possible experience, and reviews are a wonderful way to know if people were happy with their stay at the Inn.

It also reminds us of the absolutely incredible people we have had the privilege of meeting and spending time with.

Stay Here You’ll be glad you did!
Pam and JB are doing an outstanding job as B&B host. Thoughtful and caring and just wonderful people to be around. The hard work that they put into the old hotel really shows. They did a great job in breathing life back into this old building. I remember seeing the old girl in such disrepair and knew I would come by her one day and she’d be gone. Thank you Pam and John for putting this great old structure back on the map! That being said, they did a GRAND job on the clean up!! The whole place is extremely clean and very well appointed. We stayed in the very clean
Lighthouse suite and loved the decor. (First time on a sleep number bed, I now know I’m a 45 ;) Breakfast was delicious every time thanks to JB’s culinary skills in the kitchen and Pam keeping the coffee hot and all the guests needs satisfied in the dinning room. If you need info on where to eat out or what to do, ask them. We did, and every bit of info was spot on. For being beach short timers they have done their homework on where to eat and what to do. We also learned from the locals that we talked with that everyone knew them as well. Pam and JB don’t just run the Inn, they’re also very much involved in their community making them locals and that makes their business locally owned and family run. A nice thing to see these days!
If you’re heading to the Outer Banks call on The Atlantic Inn. You will NOT be disappointed! My family and I are from Wilson NC and have grown up luckily traveling up and down the Outer Banks staying at different places Some nice, some…well, you know :( When we decided to do a short trip (3 nights) we found The Atlantic Inn on a google search and booked it. We had no idea that the host and hostess of The Atlantic Inn would be the highlight of our stay.
Thank you Pam and John for your gracious hospitality.
We will see you again real soon!

PS Tell Pumpkin we said hello!!

This cat is definitely living on island time!

Simply wonderful!!
John and Pam are most fantastic and gracious hosts. The Inn is beautiful; such a warm cozy atmosphere. Felt like a home away from home. Steps from the ocean, and the breakfast is a can't miss! We cannot wait to come back!

Labor Day Getaway
While looking for a place to stay while visiting with family for Labor Day, came upon this gem! One of our best experiences yet with bed/breakfast. John and Pam were amazing hosts, they made your feel like you were family. Morning/evenings were full of easy conversation and watching the TV of the renovations and area highlights. Rooms were well appointed and quiet. If you have a chance this is the perfect location to stay while on Cape Hatteras.

Had a GREAT time!!
I checked in onWednesday am… I was early so Pam took my number and called me when the room was ready. They are a 3-5 minute WALK to a beautiful Oceanside/beach. Graciously, I received a text well before the 4:00 check-in time! Pam and John were welcoming and warm. The building is SO incredibly and authentically lovely. Mermaid room was beautiful and comforting. Each morning, breakfast was delicious. The details/decor of each room are well-thought out and put together; especially the walls of the dining room area! See it for yourself! And, so many spots to perch!! One favorite touch was the picture/video display they share on the main TV during breakfast! Pam gives great ideas of where to visit and knows -personally so many local business owners! They chat with guests! And, they are located within a reasonable middle between upper OBX and Ocracoke…. It was just a delightful time!!

We left as friends!
My husband and I recently stayed at the Atlantic Inn. I had read Pam's blog for several months and dreamed of visiting. I talked my husband into a road trip to OBX in July. This was my 4th trip, his 1st and of course, we stayed at the Atlantic Inn. I love staying at interesting historical places. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer! It was perfect in every detail. We never turned the TV on in our room - that's always a good sign. Pam and John greeted us upon arrival and Pam immediately gave me a new book to borrow about Portsmouth Island after I told her we were exploring there the next morning. We had perfect weather while we were there, but if it had rained, there would have been plenty to do at the inn. I have told my sister and friend about Pam's retreats, so I definitely am planning a return trip soon.

Special place to stay!!
My husband and I stayed 3 nights at The Atlantic Inn. We were celebrating our 55 wedding anniversary. John and Pam were wonderful hosts. They were very welcoming and made our stay quite enjoyable. We had many wonderful conversations with them. The Inn was immaculate and offered plenty of spaces on the many porches to relax as well as cozy seating inside. The breakfast room area was so welcoming and homey. The breakfasts were delicious. Every nook and cranny was tastefully filled with comfortable furnishings and decor. It is conveniently situated near beach access. We will stay there again whenever we get back to Hatteras.

If you are planning a trip to Hatteras, you absolutely must stay at The Atlantic Inn. Pam and John went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome, even accommodating an early check-in for us. We stayed in the Bodie Island Suite and were blown away by how immaculately kept every part of the Inn was. Our room retained the original charm of the building while also incorporating upgraded amenities like a private porch with entrance and mini-fridge. There were multiple spaces that all guests could enjoy, which really added to the bed and breakfast component of our stay. It was a short walk to one of the most beautiful beaches we’ve been to, and the fresh breakfast each morning exceeded our expectations. We cannot wait to visit again and highly recommend The Atlantic Inn whenever our friends and family are looking to stay in OBX.

Wow! We had the most incredible stay at the Atlantic Inn! Pam was the kindest and most hospitable host. The cooked breakfast was delicious and we loved the options at the cold breakfast bar! Pam and John have done the best job at making the Atlantic Inn so cozy and relaxing. We stayed for the weekend and were so sad to leave on Sunday. We loved the short walk to the beach, the fresh homemade cookies and my boyfriend especially enjoyed exploring the books in the upstairs library. Our room was spectacular! The bed was so comfortable and the suite was so roomy. It was the cleanest placed I’ve ever stayed and nicest place I’ve ever stated. I’m already counting down the days until I can go back!

Simply beautiful! This little Inn has the feel of a beautiful boutique hotel but the quaint feel of home. Nestled in the southern part of the Outer Banks this little Inn is a gem. My family and I decided to do a girl's trip/mother's day in the Outer Banks, a place we visited often as children and when our dad was alive. This Inn was both nostalgic and modern and made for a perfect landing place for our quick weekend getaway. Doug and Pam made you feel welcome in their beautiful well-kept Inn. I will be back and I look forward to making new memories in this well maintained piece of history. Thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise.

The Atlantic Inn is a wonderful alternative to cookie cutter hotels. The room we had was more like two rooms, one with a comfortable sitting area and TV, the other with a very comfortable bed and pleasing decor, with a nod to the Inn's historic roots. It was a first floor room and very spacious and comfortable. There are ample spaces to sit on the porch, or to enjoy the deck areas overlooking the back courtyard area. There is also a very lovely breakfast and lounge area, where the hosts serve breakfast and have coffee and snacks available. Guests seemed to enjoy gathering there for conversation with each other, and the hosts, who are world travelers who transformed the old inn to be the pleasant and unique place it is today. While not a beachfront property, there is beach access nearby. It is also close to a good choice of restaurants and to the Ferry Terminal and the Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum. A wonderful and relaxing stay with very hospitable and friendly hosts who are most accommodating if you have questions or requests. You will enjoy your stay, the people you meet here and the pleasant memories you take with you,

John and Pam’s Inn made our Outer Banks trip so much more special!!!!! From the warm hospitality, short walk to the beach, beautiful and extremely comfortable newly renovated place to stay, the excellent homemade breakfast every morning, and to top it off the greetings from sweet Pumpkin the cat while relaxing on the porches every day. We will be back FOR SURE! Oh and I called before we got there and asked if they could put some little decorations in our room for Steve’s birthday and with no hesitations th
ey were willing to go out of their way to do that. They are sooooo sweet!! Thanks for everything guys!!!
Love,
Steve and Jamie
